Story
Kumbhkaran, awakened from deep sleep, strode like a mountain. He wrought havoc, but Ram felled him with divine missiles. Power without vivek destroys itself; Ram honours even his enemy’s courage with dignity.
Why it matters
Kumbhkaran is a devastating warrior, but even he counsels his brother Ravan to return Sita before the battle — he fights out of loyalty, not conviction. Ram is said to have honoured his courage even while defeating him.
